This season sees a change in the way teams can register for next season.
There will be no need to attend a Formation Evening and all you will have to do is e-mail myself with the details or you can of course still fill out a registration form and post it to my home address.
One other change for next season and an important one for all teams to know is that in previous years some players have paid their registration fees after the season has actually started but because the rules have now changed in regards to registrations, you MUST have paid your money to the league before you play a match so therefore I am asking each player to either make sure that they pay their team captain the money so then they can then arrange to pay them either to myself via cheque/cash or you will be able to pay them directly into the leagues bank account electronically but either way the league needs to have received them by the time the season starts in September.
Any games won by players who have not paid before they play a match will not count.
You can of course register your team with me and then pay after and the cut off point for registrations is the 12th of August.
If you would like either the bank details or the registartion form sending to you then please let me know by e-mailing [email protected]

Another reminder that this year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) takes place on Monday the 12th of June at Worksop Miners Welfare on Gateford Road with a 7.30pm start.
Items submitted for the AGM to be voted on this year are as follows:

An Addition To Rule 7
7i - If a team wishes to re-arranges a match so they can play two matches on one night then they must have prior agreement from both of the opposing captains

Rule To Be Scrapped
11c – No player will be allowed to enter the Annual Championships unless they have played in a minimum of one third of league games by the closing date for entries, except at the discretion of the Committee. A player may only play in a Divisional Competition if they have played in a minimum of one third of league games in the division in which he/she is registered to play in.

Please Note:
If you park your car in the car park belonging to the Welfare Club you need to give your registration number to the bar person as they do clamp vehicles in this car park.
May I also remind everyone that at least one player from each team has to attend the AGM or they will incur a £10.00 fine and just to be crystal clear, it's one player from each team and not from each club.

Topspin Sports for whom Mark Short is the local agent are holding a bat/rubber trying evening on Thursday the 25th May from 7.00pm to 8.30pm at Redlands Table Tennis Centre.
To my knowledge this is the first event of its kind in Worksop and gives all players in the Worksop League a great opportunity to try out different blades and rubbers before making what sometimes can be an expensive investment in a bat that in the end turns out not to be suited to the player.
Please do go along and support the event as it will more than likely be a very worthwhile invest of your time.
