A big thank you to all players that entered this years Annual Championships on Sunday and helped make it such a terrific event.
I personally want to thank James Wormwell for transporting the barriers, Andy Lee, Jo McIntosh and Dave Lee for setting the hall up the day before and all three of them again for their invaluable input on the day to keep the event moving along.
I'd also like to thank Fiona Halpin-Stent for running the refreshments and Tuck Shop (and for keeping me topped up with coffee all day!) and Rick Harris for not only arranging for the free water for all players from McDonalds but for also for his efforts in helping keeping things moving along on the day.
Thank you to all players that kept offering to score and to also get players on to tables, again a massive help on the day.
Last but not least I have now entered EVERY result from Sunday on to the Championships Page so please feel free to have a look at the progress of the competitions as they unfolded.

Just a reminder that this season's Annual Championships take place on Sunday the 24th of January at Sparken Hill Academy (formerly Ryton Park School) on Sparken Hill.
For anyone that is paying for their entry fee on the day then please note that they need to give it to Rick Harris and not me as he will be collecting the outstanding entry fees and having the exact money would be a big help.
Please note that you need to pay your fee before you play.
The doors will be open from 8.45am and as usual there will be 6 tables set up with matches due to commence just after 9.00am so could I ask all the players involved in the first six matches below to please make sure that they are there for 8.45am to knock up and to get underway for 9.00am.
Draw Doubles
S. Lyon & T. McIntosh v A. Olliffe & K. Alvey
J. Westwood & J. Reay v N. Fisher & P. Linfield
M. Manuel & P. Hodgson v G. Makrakis & O. Riauba
G. Gillgrass & J. Wormwell v M. Potter & G. Payne
Junior Singles
V. Riauba v M. Radford
Open Singles
L. Banton v M . Bloomer
Because of the large number of entries this season there are a lot of maches to get through on the day so can I please ask everyone not to come and stand in front of the table where I will be sat as I need to be able to see when matches finish and to see who's playing etc. to work out who's on next.
It will also be a massive help not to have players jumping on to tables for a knock straight after a match has finished as it quite often looks like that table has a match being played on it when in fact it hasn't.
Can I also request that players don't come up and ask 'when I am on next' as trying to juggle 12 competitions is difficult enough without trying to estimate time slots!
There will be large A3 tournament sheets on the windows that will be updated regularly to show how each competition is progressing so players can see their next opponents but please bear with us as some players may have to sit around longer than others due the fact that some players have entered more competitions and may also progress further than others.
There will be free bottles of water provided on the day and I would like to thank Rick Harris for getting McDonalds to provide this for us.
There will also be Tea, Coffee, Crisps and Chocolate Bars etc. for sale on the day at 50p each with any profits made going back into the league - thanks to both Fiona Halpin-Stent and Jo McIntosh for organising.
I know it will be a long day for most people but looking at the amount of entries and the early rounds of the draws it should be a fabulous day for table tennis and I for one can't wait and I'm not even playing!
