It's Childs Play As Tarr Babies Keep Pressure On Leaders

DTH Redlands Tarr Babies kept the heat on Division Three leaders DTH Redlands X-Youth this week by comfortably whitewashing Centre For Sport. Veteran Jack Tarr playing only his second league match of the season led the way and he was well supported by team mates Lewis Comley  and Matthew Mudd who both also registered hat tricks before teaming up to take the doubles in straight sets. The win now puts the Tarr Babies only 5 points behind the leaders and as they still have to play each other twice before the end of the season which will have a major bearing on where the Division Three title ends up.
Whilst the Tarr Babies were brushing aside Centre For Sport, X-Youth were themselves having an easy night by beating club colleagues DTH Redlands Allsorts. Both Mark Bloomer and Clive Eden won all their 3 games with the Allsorts only success of the night coming when Ethan Warner beat Jeff Reay in a 5 set thriller which Warner won 12-10 in the decider. Bloomer and Eden completed the 9-1 win by coming together to beat Warner and Caius Tweed in straight sets in the doubles.

Manton Tigers probably expected a tough match against Ryton Park Eagles with the Eagles sitting 5 above them in the Division Two table but with the Eagles only being able to field two players and therefore having to start 3-0 down there was only going to be one winner. Bill Bateman and Paul Allison both beat Keith Swift and Ivan Stallworthy with the only success for the Eagles in a 9-1 defeat coming when Swift surprisingly defeated an in form Dave Bowns.
If anyone thought that the Eagles were up against it before the start of their match then spare a thought for DTH Redlands Geriatrics in their match with Stanley Street 'A'! If having to go to the unbeaten  league leaders wasn't daunting enough, they had to go there with ONLY one player! Dennis Learad already knew that the Geriatrics had lost before a ball had been hit and he was only playing for pride. In probably the quickest ever league game in history Stanley Street's Alex Millward and Peter Eyre both beat Learad before Learad completed the proceedings with a good win over Dave Hodkin.
Other Division Two Results: DTH Redlands Red Bulls 6 Manton Sports 4, DTH Redlands Morris Men 3 Stanley Street 'B' 7.
The 'taking it in turns' game at being leaders in Division One continued again this week as first the Zygabytes went back top with a fine 8-2 win over a two man DTH Redlands Outlaws side only to see DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys retake the number one spot two days later with an impressive 8-2 win of their own against MBE. With the return to full fitness of Richard Wesley the Toys now look to be hitting form at the business end of the season. Richard Wesley was the man in form as he registered a fine hat trick whilst being well backed up by brother Tom and captain Steve Walker who both each won two games each, both losing out to Mark Stanfield. On this occasion both Mick Bell and Dave Marsh for MBE couldn't trouble the scorers. Walker and Tom Wesley teamed up to comfortably take the doubles against Marsh and Stanfield.
Other Division One Result: DTH Redlands Roosters 6 Global Marble 4.
