Marble Roll Over Zygabytes To Throw Title Race Wide Open
Global Marble pulled off probably the shock result of the season so far by beating title contenders Zygabytes and in doing so threw the Division One title race wide open. The star player on the night was Global's Kerry Radford who registered a fabulous hat trick against a team that many had tipped as one of the favourites to win this year's Division One Championship. Steve Lyon and Kartik Lakhani both chipped in with a win each over Zygabyte's Bob Hume before Radford finished her evening off on a high by teaming up with Lyon to win the doubles. For the Zygabyte's Joe Zygadlo and Dave Kelly both won two games each but it wasn't enough to stop Global recording a 6-4 win and in doing so moving up into 2nd place in the table.
Whilst the Zygabyte's were slipping up, their nearest rivals DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys were taking full advantage by beating club colleagues the Outlaws and opening up a 4 point gap between themselves and the Zygabyte's. Although the Toys managed to beat the Outlaws they didn't have it all their own way and just scraped a 6-4 win with the Toys trio of Steve Walker, Thomas and Richard Wesley all winning two games each but all falling to the Outlaw's Chris Cattell, albeit Richard Wesley had to concede his game with Cattell due to injury.

In Division Two Manton Sports finally registered their first win of the season and in doing so hauled themselves off of the bottom of the table. In their match with DTH Redlands Morris Men Alan Wilson rolled back the years and claimed a fine hat trick with John Lowde and Keith Smith adding solo along with the doubles it all resulted in a welcome 6-4 win for Sports. Both Kyle McIntosh and Dilip Malkan won two games each for the Morris Men with Ewan Pickersgill being rather unlucky in going home empty handed. The result now leaves the Morris Men rooted to the bottom of the table.
DTH Redlands Red Bulls continue the long chase to try and reel in leaders Stanley Street 'A' and despite their latest win, it's now looking like a forlorn task. In their match with Manton Tigers Steve Johnson gained another hat trick with Tom McIntosh weighing in with two wins and then teaming up with Johnson to win the doubles to take the match 6-4 with Brain Hall losing all his three games. The scorers for the Tigers were Dave Bowns with two, one of them being a win over McIntosh in a 5 set thriller and Phil Hall and Steve Beeston winning one each.

Although Division Three side DTH Redlands Dynamos will probably finish mid table they all continue to improve as the season wears on and none more so than Kieran Tutter who yet again won all his three games in their 8-2 win over DTH Redlands Cypriots. Tutter has now won 19 out of his 21 games so far this season and with age on his side will only get even better. He was well supported by Nathan Langley who also won all of his three games with his younger brother Regan chipping in with a single win with the brothers Langley teaming up to take the doubles. For the Cypriots Adam Hamilton and Jason Poole managed wins over Regan Langley.
Another side showing signs of improvement are DTH Redlands Rascals who won their second game of the season, this time against bottom side Centre For Sport. Liam Stead was the pick of the three Rascals as he gained a rare hat trick being well supported by Macauley Bartrop and Ellis Spacey who both won two each. For Centre For Sport Glen Gillgrass won two games before joining Aydon Baker in the doubles to just overcome Bartrop and Stead but it wasn't enough to stop Sport losing the match 7-3.
