Miners Welfare Extend Unbeaten Run

Worksop Miners Welfare continued their fine start to the season by beating their club colleagues Worksop Welfare Snipers 8-2. The Miners Welfare side have now won all three of their games in Division One and have opened up a lead at the top of the division. Their latest win came courtesy of hat tricks for both Chris Cattell and Richard Element who was making his first appearance of the season. The Miners Welfares third player  Phil Walton chipped in with a win over Russ Webster but lost to both Erlands Skels and Pete Hodgson. Cattell and Element then teamed up to beat Skels and Hodgson in the doubles to complete their win.
The only other game in Division One this week saw Stanley Street ‘A’ keep in touch with the leaders by winning away at Clowne ‘B’. Fine hat tricks for both Alex Millward and Terry Emmerson over James Weston, James Wormwell and Kartik Lakhani put Stanley Street in the driving seat on their way to a 7-3 victory. Their third player Mark Sansom didn’t manage to get himself on the scoresheet as he lost all of his singles games. The scoring was completed with victory in the doubles for Emmerson and Millward over Lakhani and Weston.
Sparken Hill Eagles continue to lead Division Two and they made it 4 wins from 4 with an 8-2 win over Manton Sports helped by a Brian Allen hat-trick.
