Second Finals Night Results
Yesterday evening the second of the two Annual Championships Finals Nights was held at Stanley Street Sports & Social Club before a good crowd of spectators who enjoyed some outstanding table tennis from players of all ages and abilities.
The results of the six finals that took place are as follows:

The Carter Cup
The League is pleased to announce that for the first time in several years we are entering a Junior Team in the national competition, The Carter Cup.
The League will be represented by Will Short and Sam Batty with Harrison Holland as reserve.
As always we are grateful to our sponsors, DTH Engineering Ltd, whose continued support enables the WDTTL to develop the game in the Worksop area and support the development of our younger players to be able to achieve county representation and play in prestigious national competitions such as The Carter Cup.
We wish Will and Sam the very best of luck in the competiton.

First Finals Night Results
The first finals were played on Tuesday of this week at Stanley Street Sports & Social Club in front of a good number of family, friends, current and former players who came along to support them.
Players from all three divisions aged from of 10 years to 70+ years competed for the first 9 of 17 titles from this year’s Annual Championships.

Annual Closed Championships – Results
Yesterday, WDTTL Annual Closed Championships were held from 8:00 am– 6:00pm. In total 43 competitors of all ages and abilities competed in 17 different events, both singles and doubles, from Under 12 boys to Veterans 70+!
Needless to say it was a fantastic day of table tennis with some outstanding play from those relatively new to the sport to those who have many years of experience. All matches were played in an excellent spirit and it was particularly good to see our younger players achieving some excellent results in the rounds against more experienced players – a very bright future ahead for them and the League!
The finalists in all events are listed below and these will be played on two separate Finals Nights later in the season (details to follow nearer the time).
As always, grateful thanks to our sponsors DTH Engineering whose continued support is very much appreciated and without it events such as the Annual Championships, Finals Nights, Presentation Evening and the development of table tennis in the Worksop area would not be possible.

Annual Closed Championships
Tomorrow, 21st January 2024, the ACC are being held at Outwood Academy Sports Hall (next door to Worksop Leisure Centre).
There are 46 competitors across 17 events in singles and doubles ranging from Under 12 Boys through to Vets 70+.
Play will start at 8:30am and is expected to be completed by 6:30pm. Spectators are welcome, so pop along anytime to support players and watch what promises to be a very competitive day of table tennis.

If anyone is interested, Jeff Reay is opening up Redlands tomorrow - Thursday 4th January - from 6:30pm - 9:00pm for a practice session. This is open to anyone. No booking necessary as there are plenty of tables. £4 fee to cover hire of hall.
