I have this morning learned of the passing of Mick Vesey who as many of you know was living in Spain.
Mick not only played in our League for many years but he also coached many youngsters too.
I'm afraid to say that I have no details of Mick's funeral arrangements etc. or where to send condolences to.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

Can I ask that all current holders of trophies please return them by the First Finals Night which is on Tuesday the 26th of February at Stanley Street Club.
Why not kill two birds with one stone and return your trophies whilst watching some great table tennis at the same time.

I have been asked by numerous players about what is happening to teams playing out of Redlands for next season so I thought it best to clarify the situation.
Howard Knott informed the League a number of weeks ago that Redlands will not be entering any teams in the Worksop League for next season and will instead be putting on a Pairs League for Redlands players on a Tuesday night.
The reason for this is so they can have more time to focus more on Junior players.
What will this mean for the Worksop League?
The League have already made provisions for Redlands teams or individual players to continue to play in our League at other venues such as Sparken Hill, Worksop Leisure Centre and possibly Clowne and there is ample space for all seven Redlands teams if they wished to continue playing in the League.
Currently we have had a number of teams and players confirming that they will continue to play in the League next season and myself and the Committee are being very pro-active in speaking to Redlands players to ensure that we get as many teams as we possibly can continuing to play in our League next season.
Hope that makes the situation a lot clearer.
