FREE Junior Coaching
A reminder to all players and parents of players that initially we asked for some level of commitment from players for the League to put on the FREE Junior Coaching sessions on.
Initially we had 7 players commit, the first session 6 players attended and on the last session just 4 players turned up.
Can I please remind everyone that the remaining two FREE sessions for Junior players that are registered with the league to be held at Redlands with Paul Johnson are as follows:
Saturday 3rd March
Saturday 7th April
Each session will be 2 hours long and start at at 1.30pm and finish at 3.30pm - Please note that Paul's regular weekly coaching sessions will still be running at the same time as the free sessions for a cost of £5.00 per player).
To qualify for the FREE junior coaching you have to obviously be a Junior but also be registered with the Worksop League.

Can I please ask everyone to be a little more vigilant when filling scorecards out as I am getting more and more that are incorrect.
The most errors are coming when teams are incorrectly filling out how many games each player has won.
The boxes next to the 'Rubbers Won' are very clearly marked with player 1, 2 and 3 on them so therefore are very simple to fill out!
I really don't want to be issuing fines for it week in week out but the bigger issue is that if they aren't filled out correcty then it may affect players individual averages, with the knock on affect being that a player may not receive the correct amount of handicap points in the Divisional Trophy matches, Handicap Singles and even the upcoming Summer League.
Can both team captains please check them thoroughly before signing and submitting the card to myself.
Thanks in advance.

As you are all aware, next week is the first batch of matches in the Divisional Cups.
Just for clarity for all of our existing players and for the new teams/players that have not played in the Divisional Cup before I have written below the rules etc:
Division One - David Hooton Trophy
Division Two - Reg Wilcox Trophy
Division Three - MBE Trophy
Each players handicap is worked out by their current individual average (which will be posted out to each team captiain before the match along with the scorecard for the match).
For example, if a player has an individual average of 67% then his handicap will be 33 points (100% minus 67% = 33)
If another player has an individual handicap of 28% then his handicap will be 72 points (100% minus 28% = 72) and so on.
You then add all the points scored on the table to the handicap points and that will give you a final match score.
Whichever side has the most points at the end are the winners.
Another thing to note is that not very player on each side will play each other so it is vital that you rank your teams players in the correct order, again I have given an example below:
Dave Smith 78%
Bill Jones 71%
John Jones 41%
Because Dave Smith (78%) has the highest individual average out of his team he is ranked as Player 1
Bill Jones (71%) has the 2nd highest individual average so he is ranked as Player 2, so therefore John Jones who has the lowest individual average out of his team is ranked Player 3.
Please make sure that the correct names are placed next to the correct player rankings on the scoresheet because it will mess the scoring of the match up if not.
If ANYONE has any issues, questions etc. about the scorecard/scoring/averages etc. then please call me on 07962 963735 and I will be more than happy to explain or help.
If team captains want to download a scorecard and print one off then they can do by going to the Downloads page on the website and clicking on the relevant scorecard.
