Kay Wilson of Worksop Harriers 'A' and Nick Sievewright of Worksop Harriers 'B' and of Saturday Table Tennis Practice Club at Worksop leisure Centre are organising a Table Tennis-Athon in aid of Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice (plus it's also a great promotional event for our League).
But for this to happen they need YOUR help as they can't have the event without enough willing players.
All the information about the event is below and they hope that as many league players as possible will want to join in and have a great day with them.
The event will be held on Sunday 25th February 2018 at Worksop Leisure Centre in the room where league games are played and the event will run from 9am till 3pm, needing you to be there no later than 8.45am for a prompt 9am start.
As this is being advertised as a table tennis-athon with an accumulation of 70 playing hours it does not mean they will be asking you to play for 70 hours! Instead it will be 5 hours of play, in a 6 hour period. You will have a 10 minute break within every hour and to make the event work they need 14 eager players for it to happen plus a few on standby in case of illness or injury.
Kay and Nick both think that Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice is a wonderful charity that all local people will have heard of and will support. The event will be a sponsored event meaning you would need to have a sponsorship form to ask your family, friends, colleagues etc for support. To make the event a viable fundraiser we would please as for a minimum sponsorship of £40 per player. The event itself is free for you to enter into, you just the need minimum sponsors.
On the day there will also be buckets for footfall donations and spectators and supporters are encouraged to come and watch the pl,ayers in action. They will also have a spare table up for people to come and have a go to help promote our much loved sport and they are hoping this will be advertised widely, including the Worksop Guardian and Worksop Life etc.
Kay and Nick are also hoping to get some free water for players and some energy bars or something along those lines, if anyone knows of any companies or contacts that could possibly help them out with these then please could you let them know by the details below as any help would be very much appreciated.
They are hoping this will be a successful fundraiser and promotion event and most of all, a day full of fun!!
Please, they need you! To register your interest or to ask any questions please contact :

Please note that there will be NO matches being played at Redlands School week commencing the 23rd of October as the school are having new lights fitted that week.
Can I ask the Redlands team captains that this effects to contact the opposing captains to make sure that they know of the postponements and to re-arrange the fixtures within 6 weeks as per the rules.

After considerable hard work and organising, Howard Knott has put together a fantastic line up of professional table tennis players to showcase their skills at Redlands Table Tennis Centre on Saturday the 16th of December.
Worksop will be represented by England National Team professional players Sam Walker and David McBeath and they will be up against a Croatian team of Frane Kojic and Filip Cipin.
All players are currently ranked amongst the world’s top 300 players so this really is a fabulous opportunity to view a genuine top class standard of table tennis right on our own doorstep.
If this inaugural event is a success then this could well be the first of many.
The 16th of December will be full on day starting with a morning session of training like a pro followed by access to pre-match practice, the big match itself, post match interviews and perhaps a brief Q and A session (more details to follow).
Once again the date is Saturday the 16th December 2017 at Redlands Table Tennis Centre and for the afternoon the doors will open at 2.30pm with the main event starting start at 4.00pm prompt.
Ticket prices are Senior £8.00, Junior/Concessions £4.00 with a Family Ticket costing £16.00.
You can obtain tickets by calling Howard Knott on 07966 452535, e-mailing him [email protected] or contacting him via Facebook Messenger with tickets being on a first come first served basis and they will go fast so don't miss out!
