It with great sadness that the league has to report the passing away of Ken Alvey earlier today. Ken hadn't been playing long in the Worksop League but was often seen in attendance with Richard Element offering his support when Richard was playing.
Although many players in our league may not have known Ken that well there are others that are well aware of the time and effort he put into table tennis, especially in regards to Albert Premier TTC in Sheffield where he was at the forefront of running the club.
On a personal note I shall remember Ken for his dry sense of humour and the laughs we shared along with his willingness to score almost EVERY game he was watching!
But most of all I shall remember Ken for the respect he held with everyone in local table tennis circles.
Our condolences go to all his family.
He shall be missed greatly
