A massive massive thank you to Nigel Stent, Fiona Halpin-Stent, Mark Sansom, Dave Lee, Mark Fisher, Carly Hyde and everyone else who helped out today, we couldn't have done it without you all, it really was appreciated.
Just to let everyone know that the Committee took the decision after last year's Championships NOT to continue with the Plate Singles at the Annual Championships moving forward.
So for anyone that loses their first match in the Open Singles there will be no Plate Singles competition to be entered into.

A reminder that next Sunday the 2nd of February is the date for our Annual Championships being held at Worksop Leisure Centre on Valley Road.
Can I ask that anyone that has entered the Open Doubles please make sure that they are at the Leisure Centre for 8.45am to be ready to play at 9.00am as we will be starting off with the Open Doubles.
Whilst the Open Doubles is in progress we will be making the draw for the Draw Doubles which will then begin after tables become free from the first few matches in the Open Doubles.
We will also endeavour to get the younger players that have entered finished at a reasonable time so the Cadet Singles, Junior Singles, 3rd Division Singles and Doubles will get underway once we have made some inroads into the Open and Draw Doubles Competitions.
Can I also remind players if they lose a match then they need to make themselves immediately available to score the next match on the table they have just lost on as last year we had so many problems getting players to score games.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has offered their help and to everyone who has entered.

For the Annual Championships we need to collect tables and barriers from Sparken Hill.
We need volunteers to be at Sparken Hill on Saturday 1st Feb at 4.30pm to load the van then to Worksop Leisure Centre to unload.
Then on Monday 3rd Feb at 6pm at Leisure Centre to load the van for the return journey.
If you can help please let us know.

As the day for the Annual Championships draws ever closer, the need for volunteer helpers gets bigger!
We are in desperate need of people to help out with finding players and getting them on tables to play matches, getting players to score and also updating the draw sheets that are stuck up on the wall at the far end of the building.
If anyone hasn't entered the Championships but can give us some greatly needed help I would be immensly grateful.
Unless we get some help we may have to resort to using a loud speaker system to alert players that they're needed to play which will also mean us enforcing a rule that if a player is not on the table after 5 minutes of their names being shouted out then they will be scrubbed from that particular competition.
Other leagues use this system but the Worksop Committee have always treid not to as it can be off putting for players when announcements are made.
If anyone can very kindly help out the please e-mail me at [email protected]

The draw for this season's Annual Championships can now be found on the 'Championships' page on the league's website.
We have had exactly 50 entries this season which is a great effort considering that the teams from Redlands haven't enetred the league this year.
Thank you for your support
