Sports Fall Through Relegation Trap Door
With Redlands School being closed this week due to work being carried out there weren't many matches actually played but Manton Sports were in action and were finally relegated to Division Three despite putting up a spirited display which saw them battle to a 5-5 draw away at Stanley Street 'B'. Both James Weston and Keith Smith won two games each for Sports as they both managed to beat Paul Linfield and Glyn Williams with Richard Robinson also adding a win against Williams but none of them could beat an inform Jack Kirkland who registered an impressive hat trick which went a long way to denying the Sports team all three points and sent them tumbling into Division Three.
At the other end of the Division Two table Worksop Miners Welfare 'B' continued their march towards promotion to Division One with a 7-3 win over one man DTH Redlands…full report »
Monsters Take Division Two Title
DTH Redlands Monsters have this week been crowned Division Two Champions. The Monsters side of Orestas, Martynas and Valentinas Riauba who have lost only one league game all season clinched the title by thumping their nearest rivals, 2nd placed Worksop Miners Welfare 'B' 9-1. Both Orestas and Valentinas beat all three Welfare players in Jim Westwood, Erlands Skels and Glyn Payne but Martynas couldn't repeat his brothers exploits as he lost to Skels in a real battle that went to 5 sets. Orestas and Valentinas then went on to beat Skels and Westwood in the doubles in straight sets to put the icing on the cake.

Roosters Crowned Division One Champions
Despite it being a blank week in the league due to it being Championship Finals Night, DTH Redlands Rookies clinched the Division One title without actually having to hit a ball. The Roosters main rivals DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys who were the only team that could catch them were playing a re-arranged match from the previous week against Manton Nomads who had beaten the Roosters only seven days earlier to deny them winning the title. The Nomads made it up to the Roosters by beating their nearest rivals with Ian Henderson being the man in form for the Nomads as he returned a hat trick of wins beating all three Toys players in Steve Johnson, Lea Dickinson and Dennis Learad who was playing up from Division Two. Henderson was well supported by Sarah Short who beat both Learad and Dickinson before losing out to Johnson in 5 sets. Kartik Lakhani…full report »
Rookies Clinch Division Three Title
DTH Redlands Rookies this week won their 15th league game out of 15 and with it the Division Three title. The Rookies have been front runners all season and it has come as no surprise that they have won the title but never the less Captain Derek Piper has marshalled his squad superbly well all season. The win that clinched the title came away at Stanley Street 'E' and the Rookies did it in some style whitewashing Street 'E' 10-0. There were hat-tricks all round for Dilip Malkan, Chris Clemson and Bob Atkinson with Malkan and Cutts teaming up to take the doubles and although the Street team of Jasper Turner, Finlay Coburn and Tai Chen took a bit of a mauling they can take heart from the fact that they are a young team and are improving all the time.
The two teams that are in the race…full report »

DTH Redlands Joggers and Manton Sports were this week involved in a fabulous cup match with the outcome not being decided until the very last shot of the match. Matthew Mudd then beat Wilson by 7 points and when Mudd and Dennis Learad beat Weston and Smith in the first of the doubles games by 8 points it meant that the Joggers were only 17 points behind with 6 games still to play.
