Tom McIntosh and Pete Hodgson both had a successful day at the Worksop & District Annual Championships which were held at Sparken Hill Academy. McIntosh also reached the final of the Junior Singles after dispatching Lee Banton and then Martynas Riauba in the semi final, all without dropping a set. He will play Orestas Riauba in the final after he came through against Adam Hamilton in the quarters and his brother Martynas in the semi final.

Elks In The Hunt For Promotion

The On-Line Elks have over the last few weeks eased their way into the fight for the promotion places in Division Three with some consistent performances which have seen them move up the table into second place. Their latest victory came against Ryton Park Falcons with both Jonno Blood and Neil Houghton registering solid hat tricks with Glen Gillgrass chipping in with a solo effort. Double Trouble For Toys Who Are Stuffed Twice In A Week

Having only lost two league games in the last two and a half seasons DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys can be forgiven for being a little shell shocked this week after suffering two defeats in little over a week!
There first loss was surprisingly at the hands of mid table Manton Nomads who after gaining promotion from Division Two last season and after recruiting some new players have adapted well to life in the top division. The Nomads victory was even more surprising as they came from 4-1 down to hit back to win 6-4 with a real team effort and all three players made telling contributions with both Ian Henderson and Sarah Short securing two wins each as Henderson beat both Steve Walker and Lea Dickinson whilst Short managed to defeat Steve Johnson and Dickinson. Kartik Lakhani chipped in with a solo effort also defeating Dickinson and then…full report »

Holders Crash Out Of Mike Tunningley Shield

Defending Champions Stanley Street Cypriots bowed out of The Mike Tunningley Shield after suffering defeat at the hands of Ryton Park Cougars. Despite the Cypriots trio of Graham Stent, Neil Fisher and George Makrakis scoring 354 points out of a possible 378 it wasn't enough to get them over the winning line as their opponents racked up 266 points on the table and when the 126 handicaps points were added to the Cougars score it gave them a final total of 392 points which gave them a winning margin of 38 points. It was a real team effort from the Cougars with Dave Lee, Dave Rix and Connor Bettley all making valuable contributions to their sides total.
The closest match of the first round was the game between Stanley Street 'B' and Worksop Miners Welfare 'A' with only 4 points separating the two teams. For Street 'B' both Jack…full report »
