Ryton Park Win First Ever 5-5 Shootout
The Leagues first ever 5-5 shoot out was played out between Ryton Park Eagles and Manton Sports. The new league points system for this season sees 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and a further point up for grabs in the 5-5 shoot out if the match is drawn. For the much fancied Eagles Gary Scott put in a strong performance winning all his three games with Carl Stones surprisingly only adding a solitary win before teaming up with Scott in the doubles to beat John Lowde and Alan Smith to ensure a 5-5 draw. Both Lowde and Wilson won two singles games each for Sports whilst Keith Smith chipped in with a win over Ivan Stallworthy who was playing up from Division Three.
