It's Tight At The Top Of Two!
As last season, Division Two is proving to be a very close affair at the top but with not much between all the teams in the division there have been some very nervy moments for the top two teams this week. Ryton Park Eagles who are currently lying in 2nd place couldn't play their strongest team in their match with DTH Redlands X-Youth and only just managed to come away with a 6-4 win. For the Eagles, Brian Allen continued his fine run of form by registering another hat trick and he was well supported by Keith Swift who added two more wins before the two of them teamed up to take the doubles to secure the victory. There were some very close games but the stand out contest on the night was the game between Allen and Clive Eden which not only went to the deciding set (which Allen…full report »
MBE Take The Honours In Clash With Fluffy Toys
MBE inflicted a rare defeat on current Division One title holders DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys and even rarer than that was Fluffy Toys Richard Wesley not winning all of his three matches. Wesley's defeat came against Richard Element who was making his debut in the Worksop League and what a debut it was as he marked the occasion by also beating Tom Wesley and Tom McIntosh to register an impressive hat trick. The 6-4 win for MBE wasn't just down to Element as his team mates Craig Straw and Dave Marsh both made significant contributions with Straw beating both Tom Wesley and Tom Mcintosh before Dave Marsh added a vital win over McIntosh in a 5 set thriller. The Wesley brothers teamed up to take the doubles against Straw and Element but it was too little too late to stop MBE taking all three points.

Rascals Race Out In Front
The early leaders in Division Three are Stanley Street Rascals who have now extended their unbeaten start to the season to 3 wins from 3 games with their latest win coming over club colleagues Stanley Street 'D'. Liam Stead, Thomas Gladwin and Ellis Spacey all continued their early season form for the Rascals as all they all beat Glyn Williams and Diesel Webb to win two games each but all three Rascals all lost to the unbeaten Andrew Agnew who remains unbeaten so far this season. Spacey and Gladwin then teamed up to take the doubles to cement a very good 6-3 victory.
Whilst the Rascals were enjoying their latest win their closest rivals On-Line Elks were going down to Ryton Park Dragons with Dragon's Luke Barraclough doing most of the damage with a hard fought hat trick of wins. Barraclough was well supported by his team mate Justin…full report »
Fluffy Toys Show The Way Once Again
DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys have started off this season where they left last season, sitting on top of the pile in Division One. They have now won both of their opening two matches of the new season in emphatic style, winning with ease, both by a 10-0 scoreline. Their opening win saw the sweep aside newly promoted Manton Tigers with Tom McIntosh, Tom Wesley and Peter Cowburn making short work of the Tigers trio of Phil Hall, Paul Allison and Dave Bowns.
Next up for the Toys were Stanley Street 'A' who fielded three players who had come up from Division Two in Jack Kirkland, Matthew Williams and Kyle McIntosh and all three had a very tough start to life in the top division as none of them could trouble the scorers on the night. The Toys trio of Peter Cowburn, Richard Wesley and Steve Johnson all registered comfortable…full report »
Henderson Relish's Life In Worksop League
Manton Misfits new signing Ian Henderson soon got off the mark in his first ever match in the Worksop Table Tennis League with a brace of impressive wins to help set his team up for a 6-4 win over rivals MBE. The Misfits who have changed their name from Global Marble 'A' got their league season off to a solid start against a team who narrowly pipped them for the Runners Up spot in Division One last season with the 6-4 result showing that once again there will be nothing between the sides this season. Henderson's wins came against Craig Straw and Dave Marsh and he was well supported by Kalpesh Bhatt who also added two wins with Kerry Harvey adding a solo win over Andrew Cave. The result of the match came down to the doubles with Henderson and Bhatt taking it 3-1 against Straw and Marsh to secure…full report »
