No Greek Tragedy For Cypriots As They Win Mike Tunningley Shield
Stanley Street Cypriots followed up their runners up achievement and promotion from Division Three by adding the Worksop Leagues flagship cup competition, the Mike Tunningley Handicap Shield to their trophy cabinet. The Cypriots have had a fabulous season and also individually as Graham Stent won the Division Three Singles title and then teamed up with Mitchell Radford to add the Division Three Doubles title to his collection. Fiona Halpin-Stent has marshalled her troops superbly this season and none more so than in the Mike Tunningley Shield. The Cypriots had a bye in the first round but then beat 2nd Division opposition in Ryton Park Cougars and then followed that up in the quarter finals with a win over fellow Division Three side DTH Redlands Tarr Babies. In the semi finals they came up against Division One side DTH Redlands Roosters who were duly dispatched to give the Cypriots a place…full report »
Street 'A' And Tarr Babies Win Divisional Trophy Finals
Stanley Street 'A' and DTH Redlands Tarr Babies have won this seasons Division One and Division Three Trophy Finals respectively.
Stanley Street 'A's opponents in the Division One final, The David Hooton Trophy were MBE who despite having to give their opponents 117 points after the handicaps were applied must have fancied their chances of winning the match especially as Street 'A' had finished 25 points behind them in the league but they didn't make a great start in reducing the deficit as Mick Bell lost to Alex Millward and when in the next match Dave Marsh only beat Matt Williams by a single point they knew they were up against it. The deficit did start to come down with some good wins for Mick Bell and Dave Marsh over Kyle McIntosh and Craig Straw over Matt Williams but it was all in vain as Street 'A', despite losing…full report »

Their latest win over Ryton Park Falcons came courtesy of hat tricks for both Andrew Agnew and Lee Webb and a solo win for Diesel Webb over Mick Potter. The Falcons may be bottom of the league but have shown good signs of improvements in the second half of the season which will bode them well for next year. Both Jak Eden and Brian Hall registered wins over Diesel Webb before Agnew and Lee Webb came together to win the doubles in straight sets against Eden and Mick Potter to…full report »
Toys And Nomads Take Division One And Two Titles
DTH Redlands Fluffy Toys and Manton Nomads were both crowned champions of their respective divisions this week after both sides recorded vital wins. Fluffy Toys recorded a comfortable 7-3 home win against Manton Misfits to win the Division One title for the sixth consecutive season. The Toys win was largely due to a Steve Johnson hat trick and he was well supported by Tom McIntosh and Peter Cowburn who both added two wins each. The Misfit's Ian Henderson did brilliantly to beat both Cowburn and McIntosh and he also had a match point against Johnson but couldn't quite clinch his hat trick. Kalpesh Bhatt and Kartik Lakhani were the other Misfit players but went home empty handed with the doubles being conceded by the Toys to finish the scoring.
