X-Youth Claim Division Three Title

The first of the Divisional Titles has been won by DTH Redlands X-Youth in their first season back in the league. After a lengthy absence from the Worksop & District League Captain Clive Eden has marshalled his troops brilliantly to remain unbeaten in the league so far this season with the added bonus of also reaching the final of the MBE Handicap Trophy. In their latest league match against DTH Redlands Dynamos they won the Division Three title in style by hammering  them 10-0 to make it an incredible 16 wins from 16 games. Clive Eden, Jeff Reay and Mark Bloomer all registered impressive hat tricks and even the inform Kieran Tutter for the Dynamos could do nothing to halt their progress. On a night dominated by X-Youth Reay and Eden paired up to comfortably take the doubles in straight sets to complete a fabulous night for X-Youth.

It's An All Manton Final For Reg Wilcox Trophy.......Again!

For the second year in succession the handicap final for Division Two sides The Reg Wilcox Trophy, will be between Manton Tigers and Manton Sports after both sides made it through their respective semi final matches. First through were Sports who in the end comfortably beat runaway leaders in Division Two Stanley Street 'A' who hadn't lost to another Division Two side all season by 91 points. Sports having a much better handicap doesn't tell the whole story as in particular Alan Wilson put in a fabulous performance for the Sports and only gave away a 9 point deficit in his singles games and with both John Lowde and Keith Smith keeping the losing margins down it was Sports who ran out winners after the handicaps were added to the scores. For Stanley Street Paul Linfield returned maximum points for his side with both Matt Fowkes and Alex Millward contributing…full report »

Adders Fail To Ruffle Roosters Feathers But Relegation Fears Are Still Eased

When Ryton Park Adders turned up to play their First Division match against DTH Redlands Roosters with only two players their chances of winning had all but disappeared and with it any chance of easing their relegation fears went out of the window. Andy Lee and John Hallgarth both battled hard with Lee managing to beat both Rick Harris and Dave Gascoyne to register his teams only wins in an 8-2 defeat with Sarah Short remaining unbeaten for the Roosters but matters off the table were to  have a more positive outcome for the Adders. Their main rivals for the dreaded drop are club colleagues Ryton Park Bees who's earlier scheduled match against the Adders fell fowl of rule 9h as the Bees failed to re arrange it within the 4 weeks allowed so therefore the Adders were awarded a 10-0 win which now puts them 3 points ahead of…full report »
